Aligning Albania’s Visa Policy with European Union Standards – Measure 5.7.1

This document presents the implementation of the Reform Agenda step aimed at progressively aligning Albania’s visa policy with that of the European Union. Through a Council of Ministers Decision, Albania reduced the list of countries benefiting from the seasonal visa-free regime by removing Oman, Thailand and Indonesia from the list of countries whose citizens may enter Albania without a visa for tourism purposes.

This measure represents an important step towards harmonising Albania’s legal framework and visa policy with European Union standards. The reform strengthens migration management, enhances border security and supports Albania’s commitments under the European Union integration process through the gradual alignment of its visa regime with the EU acquis.
