This document presents the implementation of the Reform Agenda step aimed at aligning Albania’s legal framework with Regulation (EU) 2020/1056 on Electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI). Through the adoption of Law No. 60/2026 “On Electronic Freight Transport Information”, Albania established the legal basis for the electronic exchange of regulatory freight transport information between economic operators and competent authorities.
The Law requires competent authorities to accept freight transport information submitted electronically through certified eFTI platforms and services, while defining the responsibilities of the institutions responsible for implementation, verification and oversight. The reform supports the digitalisation of freight transport, reduces administrative burdens, improves the efficiency of transport procedures and further aligns Albania’s transport legislation with the European Union acquis.
