This document presents the implementation of the Reform Agenda step introducing ecodesign requirements for energy-related products, with a particular focus on solid fuel local space heaters. Through amendments to Law No. 52/2024 “On the Labelling of Energy-Related Products” and the adoption of a Council of Ministers Decision, Albania established the legal and regulatory framework for ecodesign requirements in line with European Union legislation.
The new framework establishes standards for seasonal space-heating energy efficiency, emission limits, product information requirements, conformity assessment procedures and market surveillance mechanisms for solid fuel local space heaters. The reform contributes to improving energy efficiency, reducing air pollution and aligning Albania’s market with European Union standards for energy-related products.
